Lower Middle Market Private Equity
We have partnered with a number of Alaska Native corporations to pursue co-investments alongside private equity specialist firms in lower middle market companies across the U.S.

Underground Gas Storage
We partnered with Berkshire Hathaway Energy and a local utility on the development and operation of an underground natural gas storage facility in Alaska, together with Alaska Native corporation partners.

FinTech
We provided early-stage equity for Remitly, Inc., a technology-enabled remittance company which ultimately went public.

Telecommunications
We provided equity and debt financing for the acquisition of Nova ehf, an Icelandic telecommunications provider, together with an Alaska Native corporation partner.

Landfill Gas to Energy
We teamed with engineers, operators, and Alaska Native corporation partners to execute a roll-up of landfill-gas-to-power facilities across the country, and sold to the largest consolidator of such facilities.

Our team

Mark Kroloff


Mark Kroloff is a co-founder of FACP. He previously served as chief operating officer of two of the most financially successful Alaska Native corporations, with responsibility for P&L and investment activity. Kroloff began his career as a lawyer with Munger, Tolles & Olson in Los Angeles. He attended Claremont McKenna College and the University of Texas School of Law. He has served on the boards of directors of a number of public and private companies.

Jonathan Rubini


John Rubini is a co-founder of FACP. He is the founder and CEO of JL Properties, Alaska's largest real estate investment and development firm, with a portfolio of commercial, residential, and hotel properties in excess of $2 billion. Rubini began his career as a lawyer specializing in all aspects of public law, both as an assistant attorney general and in private practice. He attended Brown University and the U.C. Berkeley School of Law.

Jimmy Miner


Jimmy Miner serves as Vice President of Private Equity at JL Properties, Inc., where he oversees private equity investments across multiple geographies and asset classes, as well as venture capital investments focused on Alaska-based opportunities and global social impact initiatives. He attended DePaul University and later the University of Colorado Boulder Leeds School of Business.

Brendon Doyle


Brendon Doyle serves as Senior Associate at JL Properties, Inc, focused on financial analysis, reporting, and planning. An Iñupiaq Alaska Native, Doyle brings a distinctive perspective that informs the firm’s investment strategy and community engagement.
